[ Review Novel ] Forest Gump (article in english)

Assalamualaikum, 

firstly I’d like to say sorry because I am just succed reading 1 book from 3 books I should  finish reading. Secondly, let me use English to my review, because I wanna use this opportunity to exercise my writing. What I wanna review is script of Forrest Gump. Actually, this script based on fiction novel with the same tittle by Winston Groom.

Forrest Gump’s story is about an American boy whom has disabled on his feet and he has lowest IQ than general people. His IQ is only75. Even though he has minus things, in this story Forrest is related with some important event in America during modernity era. Also, there is famous word in this story such as “run… Forrest… run!” and “mama always said, life was like a box of chocolates, you never know what you gonna get.”

Important events in America which relate with Forrest are Vietnam War, meeting some president of America such as Jhon F. Kennedy, etc. when Forrest was child, he met Jenny whom gave he sat on bus. From that moment, he began to love Jenny. Forrest did not know if Jenny’s dad is cruel. What he thought is her daddy is kind and love Jenny. Forrest and Jenny were getting older, when they were senior high school Jenny became mean girl. Forrest with all of his stupidity still love her, after graduating Forrest joined with U.S Army to go to Vietnam. He met Bubba whom Negro and from the family of fisherman and Lt. Dan. Bubba suggested Forrest to join him to business catching shrimps. But, Bubba died in Vietnam War. They got attack suddenly. In the other hand, Lt. Dan was angry with Forrest because he wanted dying in war honorably but Forrest saved his life. He has to be amputated in his left leg. After that, Forrest played pingpong and represented America to friendly match with China. Then, he went home, and President John. F. Kennedy gave him and his team honourable medal. After long time, he met again with Jenny. Jenny became a part of Black Panther which is a revolutionary socialist organization founded by Bobby Seale and Huey Newton. Furthermore, Forrest finished joining U.S. Army and playing pingpong too. He went to Bubba’s house to fill his promise to be shrimpsman. he used his salary from Army to buy a boat. When beginning, Forrest started his business alone, but one day Lt. Dan came and joined with him.

Long time, they did not get shrimps continuously until a hurricane came. All of boats were kicked by hurricane except his boat. So, his boat got much shrimps and suddenly Forrest and Lt. Dan became billionaire. After catching shrimps, Forrest went to home because his mother got breast cancer. Finally, his mom died and Forrest stayed in home. Suddenly, Jenny came to Forrest’s home and stayed for a few week. One morning, she suddenly left Forrest and there’s no news from her too. Forrest began to run, and he did not realize that he has run for long time and became famous in America. Finally, he was back to his home and got the message from Jenny. Jenny said that Forrest could meet Jenny in her apartement. After arriving Jenny’s, there is a boy who is Jenny’s son. In fact, he was Forrest’s son too. Forrest was speechless and amazed in the same time. Time run fast, Jenny and Forrest married but no longer she died due to virus. It might be virus HIV/AIDS.
